Born in Sacramento, California, Christie spent much of her childhood in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where her family owns a small ranch and schoolhouse even to this day. With two older brothers and a younger sister, family was always a major part of her life. There was plenty of adventure for Christie and the other children on the ranch and surrounding property in San Luis, and she has the fondest memories of the time spent there. Christie returned with her family to the States at age thirteen, when she and her family moved to San Francisco, California and have called it home ever since, although nostalgic excursions to and from the charming ranch in San Luis are a frequent and welcome tradition.

Christie's love of children directed her path to becoming a schoolteacher in San Francisco, and she feels lucky to have a career as rewarding as it is challenging. When she's not working with little ones, she enjoys painting scenes from the colorful San Francisco streets and the rustic architecture of San Luis...with the occasional portrait of her faithful dog, Sage.

Steve was born and raised in Marin County, California and like Christie is an adventurer at heart. He has fond memories as a young boy of camping, hiking and fishing excursions with his parents and older brother...everywhere from local scenic jewels like Lake Tahoe to the islands and state parks near Boston, Mass. where his parents are from and where he still has family.

Steve's love of family, adventure, and fun is matched only by his love of cooking and great food. In studying at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco he has found his calling and dreams of the day he opens his own oceanside restaurant with a view of the San Francisco Bay.

His other loves in life, when he can find the time, are golfing, fishing, and stealing naps with his cat, who is appropriately named D.O.G.
